Activities Week

Taking place in the penultimate week of the academic school year, Activities Week is a highly popular programme of diverse trips and activities. Typically up to 18 different trips in the Senior School (plus four in the Junior School) depart to various areas of the UK and Europe, involving almost all of our pupils from Year 3-10.

All pupils in Year 7 travel together to an outdoor activity centre in the UK, where they experience a wide range of activities and challenges. Year 8-10 pupils opt from a number of trips that range from: cultural opportunities in Paris, Berlin, and Paris; subject focused trips in Iceland or Pompeii; outdoor activities and water sports in Bude and locally; focused interest trips such as Hockey in Holland, Sailing, Build a Games Console, Pony Trekking, Show in a Week, Arts Trail and Book Camp.

The programme continues to develop and diversify each year as staff propose and launch new trips. This helps keep the programme fresh and exciting for our pupils.

Activities Week is often the departure point for longer trips and expeditions, such as the recent expedition to Tanzania, focusing on project work in a primary school with Moving Mountains Charity, before trekking up Mt Meru (Kilimanjaro’s smaller sister) and experiencing a Safari in the East African Rift Valley. This year pupils will be returning to Ladakh in India to trek in the foothills of the Himalayas, and next year a party of Year 10-Year 13 pupils will be departing to Tanzania again, as well as an U16 Rugby and Netball tour to Canada.
