Wroughton Bursary Fund

We believe that education has the power to transform individual lives. This year, nearly 1 in 5 pupils were supported with a means-tested bursary in the Senior School. For these pupils, this support enabled them to learn in an inspiring environment, irrespective of their financial circumstances.

However, despite offering more means-tested bursary support than many other independent schools, we have many more families applying than we can afford to fund.

Dr John Wroughton, former Headmaster at KES, benefited from a free grammar school education and as such was passionate about providing others with life-changing opportunities. He was a huge supporter of KES’s Bursary Programme when he was alive and was often involved in fundraising activities.

To commemorate the impact he had on School life, we have set up the Wroughton Bursary Fund in his memory to award transformational bursaries to those young people most in need to enable them to attend King Edward's School.

All donations, of any size, will make a meaningful difference.

The easiest way to donate is online. You can also donate by cheque, or bank transfer – details are on the donation form. Please make cheques payable to King Edward’s School, Bath. If you need assistance, please contact the Development & Alumni Relations Office via email at [email protected]
