King Edward's School BATH

Community service

Community service is an important part of school life and our senior pupils are engaged in a wide variety of activities across Bath and the local area. Helping others is a valuable experience for our pupils.

Every Thursday afternoon, members of the Sixth Form volunteer at a number of local organizations, including local primary schools, homes for the elderly, charities, health services and the Royal United Hospital (RUH), choirs and sports clubs. Activities include helping in classrooms, serving refreshments on hospital wards and entertaining or talking to residents.

Our community links include

  • The Margaret Coates Unit for Autistic Children
  • The RUH
  • Smallcombe House for the elderly
  • Peggy Dodd Alzheimer’s Centre
  • Bathampton Junior School
  • Combe Down Primary School
  • Widcombe Infant School
  • Bridgemead Care Home
  • KES Junior School

Links with the community are numerous.'

isi report 2015.

The opportunities we are given at KES are legion, but few have been as rewarding and informative as our time spent at the RUH.  Truly fulfilling work.'
