Football

Football is a popular sport amongst the Senior boys (Years 11- 13) with more than 40 choosing this option as their Games lesson throughout the year.  As a result of this popularity, KES plays competitively at senior level with 1st and 2nd teams having approximately 12 fixtures over two terms per year.  There has been significant success at 1st team level over the years:

  • 2015-16 played 8, won 5 and drew 1
  • 2014-15 Warminster 6-a-side competition Plate Winners
  • 2013014 BaNES League Winners
  • 2012-13 Warminster 6-a-side competition Winners

Fixtures take place during Thursday afternoons when pupils from Year 11-13 have their Games lessons.

Football for Years 7-10 is more recreational with coaching and small-sided games being played at lunchtimes.  Thre is a competitive Inter-Form Competition during the Spring Term and a large number of boys enjoy this competition.

Girls' Football is increasingly popular and there is a lunchtime club for girls to improve their skills and play small-sided games as well.
