Within the Junior School, Drama is vital, dynamic and readily available. It is incorporated into weekly lessons, in both a premeditated and spontaneous way, whilst also becoming a focus during lunchtime and at after school clubs or rehearsals.
Underlying all of this is the belief that drama can engage children in new ways and foster their natural enthusiasm and creativity. Drama develops self-confidence, imagination, and empathy whilst also extending skills in co-operation, communication and concentration. Above all, it is great fun and the children thoroughly love and enjoy it.
Hearing the applauce of so many people whilst I was acting in Oliver! has given me so much confidence.
