At the end of the Spring term, a group of five Sixth Form pupils travelled to Bristol Grammar School to compete against students from across the globe in this year's CICERO International Classics Competition. There were three competitions - one involved cultural questions about the poet Ovid, one was a team general knowledge competition and one was an individual Latin translation competition.

KES acquitted themselves superbly on the day and walked out as national champions in two of the three categories: Solenne Scholefield won the cultural competition, Peter Mumford came third, whilst Elsie Clark was commended.  In the translation competition, Peter was commended in the Year 13 competition, whilst Solenne came third in the Lower Sixth category, with Elsie highly commended.  Peter and Solenne then combined to win the team competition, with an outstanding score of 101 points.

Well done to all of the team taking part.
