KES Theatre returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

KES Theatre returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

After the huge success of playing to a full house at the Fringe three years ago, KES Theatre (resident theatre company at King Edward’s School, directed by Dani Tamblyn) are returning to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this Summer to wow audiences of all ages with a thrilling adaptation of a well-loved fairytale, Hansel and Gretel

Based on a Kneehigh Theatre adaptation of a Carl Grose script (abridged by KES Theatre), 13 Sixth Form pupils will perform on four consecutive nights at the beautiful Surgeons' Hall during the world's largest arts festival.

Performing a play, once described by theatre critic, Lyn Gardner, as 'a madcap pleasure' audience goers to the KES production can expect to see Hansel and Gretel's world turned upside down as they encounter a devastating famine, talking rabbits and even a cannibal or two!
