King Edward's School BATH

Religious Education

In RE we explore the wider range of cultures, beliefs and values of different faiths. RE provides opportunities to investigate patterns of diversity of religion and belief and to forge links with different groups in the local area. We increase knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other major religious traditions represented in contemporary Britain and the ways in which they approach or explain fundamental issues of life.

Classroom learning is supported by visiting experts and trips to local religious centres, including All Saints Church Weston and the Bristol Hindu Temple.

This year we held a Diwali Day with the help of local friends, Satyen and Mita Gadher, who spent the day at school helping us to understand how Diwali is celebrated. The children had lots of fun learning to drum and sing a typical Hindu hymn and also learnt some traditional children’s arts, crafts and dance activities.
