The U19 team returned to the Regional round with high expectations, having won the tournament last year. They faced a tough pool, but played some outstanding netball. Their results were as follows:

V Marlborough –Won 9-2

V Leweston –Won 14-2

V Hartpury –Loss 8-10

V Jersey –Won 15-11

V Exeter –Won 9-7

V Truro –Won 16-4

V Taunton –Won 12-3

They finished 2nd in their group, behind the eventual winners of the tournament, Hartpury College. They then faced Maynards in the semi-final play-off. In order to get to the National finals for the second year in a row, they needed to beat the winners of the other pool.

It was a closely contested match, but KES always had the lead. After some good disciplined play and some excellent shooting from Rosie Allison, the girls were victorious, winning the game 14-9. This meant they finished runners-up and have qualified in 2nd place for the National Finals.

Congratulations to all squad members, Captain Hattie Hubbard, Helen Jones, Rosie Allison, Issy Timothy, Sam Bailey, Beth Stoneham, Rosie Coombe, Jazz Scott, Grace Tucker and Hattie Munn. Many thanks to Rachel Liddiard for all her hard work coaching the squad this year.

The National Finals are taking place at Roedean School in Brighton on March 20th. King Edward’s will be hoping to improve upon the 3rd place they achieved last year.
