Lang Jones
11th December 1936-3rd February 2007
In 2007 King Edward's School launched a fundraising initiative to create a living memorial for former member of staff, Lang Jones, who sadly passed away in February 2007. The school is now delighted to announce that the inaugural Lang Jones Bursary will be awarded in September 2009.
The school is immensely grateful to all the Old Edwardians, members of the school community, both past and present, and many of Lang's family and friends, who have contributed so generously to the Fund.
The inaugural Lang Jones Bursary will be a means-tested award which will be awarded to a pupil, with both academic and sporting potential, who is eligible to join the senior school at the age of eleven in September 2009. The bursary will be worth 50% of school fees and will support the pupil from year 7 to 13.
The school hopes that the Lang Jones Bursary can be awarded every seven years, but this will be dependent on the success of future fundraising efforts. If you would like to help, please contact the Development Office for more information.
