A record 19 Oxbridge offers for KES pupils

Amongst the excellent university offers currently coming the way of our Year 13 cohort, a record 19 pupils from King Edward’s School, Bath have been offered places at Oxford or Cambridge to study a broad range of subjects including Natural Sciences, Economics, Theology, Classics, English, History, Physics, Veterinary Sciences, PPE, Biology and Philosophy.

The news follows the recent publication of the annual Sunday Times Parent Power survey, which once again confirmed King Edward’s School’s place amongst the top 100 schools of any kind in the country and within the top six in the South West of England for the third year running.

King Edward’s has an excellent record in helping its pupils secure offers from the UK’s leading universities.  Last year 90% of all KES university applicants were offered places at their preferred destination, and 80% took up places at Russell Group universities.

Martin Boden, Headmaster of King Edward’s said: “I congratulate our Year 13 cohort on the wonderful offers coming their way.  Our Senior pupils have many strings to their bow as they make the most of all that the School has to offer, be it debating within our Model United Nations team, appearing in one of the School’s many drama productions, playing high level sport or pursuing one of our outdoor pursuits, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.  Alongside a stimulating curriculum, these co-curricular activities help our pupils grow into confident, engaging and well-rounded young men and women, making them highly attractive prospects for the UK’s leading universities.
