U14s reach sevens semis

The U14s sevens rugby squad performed well at a high-quality tournament at Dean Close School.

After beating Hereford Cathedral School in the group stages, they were narrowly defeated by the same opponents in the plate semi-finals. Hereford went on to win the final comfortably.

KES impressed against Marlborough College, the eventual open winners, and in losing by one score to Monmouth. They also knocked a Brecon team out in the quarter-finals.

There were excellent individual performances from top try-scorer Tom King and Alexei Andriopolous, who pulled off one of the tackles of the tournament.

The U14s were unbeaten against Bath schools in the 15-man season and several members of the squad, including captain Tom Lindsay, have been nominated for the Bath & North East Somerset district trials, with Tom Cobb being selected for the Mendip squad.
