Living with Teenagers
|
 |
| Bob Tait lecturing in the Wroughton Theatre |
The Living with Teenagers evening in early May was well received by over a hundred parents. The evening was designed as an opportunity for parents to learn about some of the important issues and challenges faced by pupils as they navigate their way through adolescence.
Deputy Head, Mr Michael Horrocks-Taylor introduced the evening by talking through the school's revised policy on drugs. Mrs Denton, Head of Personal, Social and Health Education explained how King Edward’s helps guide pupils through this important time in their lives through a proactive programme of lessons covering personal, social and health education topics. The school was delighted also to welcome back Mr Bob Tait who gave a session on drug recognition, the current drug situation in the UK and the importance of parent-child communication in helping young people.
Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to this 'Living with Teenagers' evening, King Edward's will be running another advice session in the autumn term.

King Bladud's Pigs in Bath
|
 |
| This photograph illustrates the shape of the pigs but not the actual design - the pupils are working on theirs over the next few weeks. |
King Edward's Art Department are delighted to be working on a community public art project this summer.
You may have noticed as you walk through Bath a number of attractive pig sculptures making an appearance, these are all part of an exciting arts project. Altogether there will be one hundred individually designed pigs displayed throughout Bath to celebrate the legend of King Bladud who discovered the hot springs whilst looking after his pigs and so founded the city of Bath.
King Edward's pupils will be creating an original design for a pig sponsored by Cobb Farr. Once the pig has been designed it will find a home in the Circus where visitors and residents of Bath alike can take a better look. Have fun spotting the rest as they arrive on the streets of Bath over the summertime.
