old edwardians return to KES Bath to support sixth formers with university applications

As part of our extensive UCAS & Higher Education programme at King Edward’s School, Bath, we recently hosted a university insight event for Year 13 pupils. This event welcomed back recent Old Edwardians (OEs), now studying at universities across the UK, to share their experiences and advice with current pupils preparing for life after Sixth Form.

In a lively speed-dating style format, pupils engaged in conversations with alumni, gaining valuable insights into university life, subject choices, accommodation, student finance, and the transition from school to higher education, among other topics. These informal discussions offered real-world perspectives to help pupils make informed decisions ahead of completing their applications.

This event is a key part of our UCAS and Higher Education support, which includes:

  • Personal statement guidance
  • Specialist preparation for Oxbridge and medical/veterinary applications
  • Support for overseas university applications
  • Mock interviews and admissions test preparation
  • Careers advice and work experience opportunities

Whether pupils are applying directly after A Levels or taking a gap year, we continue to offer full support to ensure every individual is equipped to realise their ambitions.

With around 85-90% of our pupils typically securing a place at their first-choice university, this event highlights the depth of guidance available at KES Bath as well as the strength of our community.
