KES NETBALL CELEBRATES DOUBLE SUCCESS WITH REGIONAL FINALS QUALIFICATION

King Edward’s School, Bath is celebrating a remarkable achievement as both its U19 and U14 netball squads have secured places in the Regional Finals of the prestigious National Schools Competition, organised by England Netball.

The two teams booked their places in the Regional Finals after the U14 team were crowned County Champions, while the U19 team finished as runners-up in their County round – an outstanding result for both squads.

Commenting on their success. Mrs Louisa Gwilliam, Director of Sport at King Edward’s said: “With both squads qualifying for the Regional Finals and the U14 team crowned County Champions, this is a testament to the strength and depth of our Netball programme. Over the past 16 seasons, nearly 30 KES teams have reached the Regional stage, reflecting the exceptional coaching and commitment to the sport at KES. Our pathways continue to produce talent at the highest level, with former school players progressing to international honours. Daisy Collett, a recent Old Edwardian, now represents Team Bath Next Gen. A truly remarkable achievement for KES Netball, given the high standard of netball in the area.”

The Regional Finals take place in Bournemouth in January 2026. The top two teams in each age category progress to the National Finals in Sheffield, where eighteen schools compete for the title.
