from kes to the palace!
Luana, a Year 13 pupil and former DofE Youth Ambassador, was recently invited to Buckingham Palace to help host this year’s Gold DofE celebration.
While welcoming guests, she met none other than comedian and Old Edwardian, Bill Bailey, who revealed he also attended King Edward’s School. The two shared a lovely moment reminiscing about their KES days.
In addition to helping host this year's event, Luana is one of seven Year 13 pupils at KES to complete their Gold Award this year ahead of leaving school.
Achieving the Gold Award is a remarkable accomplishment, requiring exceptional perseverance, creativity, and resilience. All recent KES recipients will be invited to a celebration at Buckingham Palace next year.
I really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet past King Edward’s School alumni at such a prestigious event and I am really looking forward to celebrating the completion of my Gold award next year with other KES students!Luana, Year 13 pupil at KES
