drAMA HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE SPRING TERM
The Spring Term has been full of wonderful events in Drama. The department started the term with a bang, holding a physical theatre workshop with world renowned theatre company, Frantic Assembly. The term also saw our A Level pupils perform their C2 practical exam, exploring texts such as Hedda Gabler, History of Falling Things and the highly contemporary 1536, in fantastic physical theatre style, as well as the fun and frolics of their devised work based on Emma Rice's theatrical approach.
We then took to the Wroughton Theatre stage with Year 7, where 40 pupils retold some extraordinary and bizarre Grimm Tales. A lot of laughter was had in the performing and in the watching of this piece, while our youngest pupils honed their considerable talents to impressive effect!
This term, some of our pupils from a wide variety of year groups have taken their LAMDA exams, as always to great success. We then rounded off the term with our Year 11 pupils performing their GCSE scripted exam, producing both hilarious and highly emotional pieces to the highest standard. We are very proud of all our pupils’ work this term.
