Winter, 1908. Snow falls softly over London. In the Darling household, Wendy and her brothers sleep soundly, while downstairs their parents bicker. Then, suddenly, the nursery window bursts open, and into their lives tumbles a mischievous boy named Peter and a temperamental fairy flickering at his side.
With a sprinkle of fairy dust, Wendy is swept away to Neverland, a place of thrilling adventure and endless possibility. But for Wendy, the journey offers more than escapism: it holds the hope of rediscovering the happiness her family has lost. In Neverland, she carves out her place among the Lost Boys, battles Captain Hook and his fearsome pirates, and begins to understand what it truly means to grow up.
Our Year 8 and 9 cast tackle Ella Hickson’s bold adaptation of J. M. Barrie’s beloved classic, with Wendy taking centre stage in a fresh, modern retelling maintaining all the magic and charm of the original.
