2025 KES LEavers celebrate outstanding a level results and diverse onward pathways
At King Edward’s, this year’s A Level results have once again demonstrated the academic strength of our Sixth Form, with 89% of all entries graded A-B*, including 61% at A/A* and 25% at A*. With a 100% pass rate, these results reflect not only academic excellence but also the School’s commitment to preparing students for a wide range of futures.
Yet what truly defines this cohort is not just their grades but the diverse and exciting pathways they are now pursuing.
This summer, our leavers are heading off to:

Headmaster Martin Boden commented:
“These wonderful results are a just reward for a very talented group of pupils who have consistently shone in so many different areas outside the classroom, as well as in the academic domain. I am delighted for everyone – pupils, parents and staff – who have given so much over the years and who have seen those efforts rewarded with these fantastic outcomes. I wish all of our Year 13 Leavers the best of luck on the next stage of their education as they progress along different pathways.”
At KES our UCAS team provide a range of services to ensure that students make timely, well thought-through and appropriate applications. The team includes specialist support and dedicated programmes for applicants likely to face admissions tests and interviews, such as those applying to Oxbridge or to study Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science and Law. We also have a specialist advisor to guide pupils through the complexities of non-British applications to overseas destinations, with a growing number of pupils interested in studying in America. The teams organise guest speakers, roadshows and help to secure relevant work work experience which is so vital for a competetitive applicant.
Working alongside the School’s UCAS programme is our Careers team who offer bespoke careers advice to Sixth Formers as the latter consider degree options and pathways including Apprenticeships or Degree Apprenticeships. Throughout Sixth Form, pupils have access to a range of subject specific careers events and speakers, plus a biennial Careers Fair. In Year 12, the majority of pupils undertake work experience to help inform future choices.
