iNTERNATIONAL WEEK BRINGS LANGUAGES TO LIFE AT THE JUNIOR SCHOOL
The first ever International Week is bringing languages to life across the Junior School at KES Bath this week!
Pupils are exploring different countries and their respective language each morning during form time, tackling a daily “Guess the Country” Wordle, and starting and ending every lesson with greetings in world languages.
Themed global lunches are adding to the fun (today’s Italian lasagne and ice cream were a big hit!), and Year 5 and 6 are enjoying language linked games such as French boules and Spanish padel.
A world map in the dining room is filling up with countries and languages meaningful to our community with Antarctica even making an appearance! Year 5 have also loved presenting a “mystery country” in their weekly enrichment lesson, using props, drawings, songs and more, whilst the weekly House Meetings will feature a special house language and quiz.
Throughout the year languages in the Junior School are brought to life through a vibrant and engaging programme, with French taught by form teachers in Years 3 and 4, and a rich choice of Spanish, German and French delivered by Senior School MFL teachers in Years 5 and 6.
