MUSIC WEEK AT kING eDWARD'S JUNIOR SCHOOL, bATH
At King Edward’s Junior School in Bath, we believe music is a powerful force for creativity, confidence, and community, and this year’s Junior School Music Week was a shining example of that belief in action as we witnessed our children discover their own voices and embrace the joy of performance.
From the very first note, the school was alive with musical energy. Pupils from the Junior School joined Senior musicians for a spirited performance of Riptide. The Busk Stop in reception became a hub of spontaneous performance, with children playing piano, singing karaoke, and showcasing their talents on bassoon, clarinet, and violin.
A Week of Musical Highlights
Our choirs spilled out of their rehearsal spaces, filling the foyer with joyful harmonies and singing games. Even staff couldn’t resist joining in and there’s now talk of a staff choir forming during Thursday breaktimes!
The House Shout brought together Sydney, Palmer, Austin, and Harbutt in a vibrant celebration of school spirit and performance. Each house gave it their all, and the atmosphere was electric.
A visit from renowned beatboxer SK Shlomo left pupils wide-eyed with amazement, inspiring new ways of thinking about sound and rhythm. Other highlights included:
- Performances by Senior Choir, KES 24
- A set from the Senior Baroque group
- A performance by the Senior Percussion ensemble
- A magical finale featuring Bach on oboe and violin, accompanied by a mesmerising display of bubbles
