King Edward’s Pre-Prep and Nursery (for ages 3-7 years), offers an exciting and stimulating world in which to start school life.
Set in the grounds of a beautiful Victorian House close to Royal Victoria Park in Bath, King Edward’s Pre-Prep and Nursery enjoys excellent facilities and, guided by inspirational teachers, our pupils become well-rounded, happy and confident children with a continued desire to learn and achieve their best.
"THE ADVENTURE STARTS HERE"
A desire to make learning ‘irresistible’ in a nurturing environment is at the heart of everything we do. Personalised learning, combined with academic rigour, ensures that every child thrives and is provided with the extension and support that they need. New initiatives, fresh challenges, concerts, trips, visiting experts and inspiring projects all help to enrich our broad and creative curriculum.
You will find that no two days are alike here. Full of magical discovery and excitement, our children play, make friends and explore the world together.
The watchword is learning through play - the children hardly realise they are learning.
Good Schools Guide
First and foremost we want every child to feel safe, encouraged and happy in school. We place children at the centre of learning, creating a close match between your child and the curriculum. This helps to increase a child’s eagerness to learn, builds self-esteem and encourages positive attitudes.
Visitors to the Pre-Prep often remark on the wonderful ‘family feel’ that they sense in the school. We work very hard to be as family-focused as possible and are very fortunate to have such supportive parents; we are never short of volunteers for the many school trips that the children enjoy and for all the varied events that take place. It is lovely to see not only parents but grandparents taking an active role in the school.
At King Edward’s the outdoor environment is a natural extension of the classroom and we are proud of our status as a Forest School. As well as allowing children to engage directly with the environment, outdoor learning also brings together many different elements of the curriculum and enriches school life.
