Academic Lecture

Ahead of the Drama department’s much-anticipated production of Antigone in December the School is delighted to welcome Professor Patrick Finglass to KES on Thursday 2 December to discuss the key themes of Sophocles’ play.

Professor Finglass currently lectures at the University of Bristol and is one of the most pre-eminent global scholars of Sophoclean poetry. He has written a number of books, including Sophocles, as well as commentaries on the plays Oedipus The King, Ajax and Electra.

The lecture is free to attend and is suitable for students from Year 10 and above as well as any interested adults. Tickets are limited and priority will be given to those students performing in the play or currently studying one of the Classical subjects.

Those wishing to attend should complete the form on the Parent Portal.

The School's production of Antigone takes place on the 8, 9, 10 and 11 December.  For details click here.
