A planned programme of events to inspire future career choices is taking place across the Senior School this week to coincide with National Careers Week, with the Computing department kicking off the week with a digital careers event yesterday, and Psychology and AI careers events today, with more to follow throughout the week, including a talk at the Holburne Museum in Bath to explore careers in museums and the heritage sector.

Not to be missed is the International Women's Day event this Thursday, where our panel of experts, drawn from the worlds of engineering, medicine and finance, among others, will aim to inspire the next generation of women leaders. Our guests will be joined by Rebecca Hourston, MD of Women's Leadership Coaching Programme at Talking Talent, who is one of the UK's leading experts in female career development.

Our guests include

  • Danaë Stanton-Fraser: Professor of Human Computer Interaction in the Psychology Department at the University of Bath researching virtual reality and immersive experiences.  Danaë mentors on the leadership development initiative for women and will be happy to provide some useful insight into different career pathways.    

     

  • Camille Chevrier:  Structural Designer at Format Engineers. Architect-Engineer who is also a member of ‘Women Like Me’, which offers workshops to promote engineering for all.   

 

  • Dr Hannah Dunne: Speciality Doctor in Forensics and Sexual Offences who has had a broad and varied career, in which she teaches medical and dental students, creates and delivers lectures and works clinically as a doctor.  

     

  • Leonora Stevens: Inheritance Tax Specialist, providing tax advice and compliance to high net worth groups. She is happy to talk about her career and the ways in which she has pushed herself both professionally and personally – where she has swum the Channel twice! 

 

  • Maria Kalama: Business Development Director at Open Cosmos. Has spent 20 years working in key positions in the space sector. She holds a PhD in satellite networking and is also passionate about other areas of innovation, including medical devices and is a key advocate for women in tech.
